Beth Bishop, founder of The Phoenix Effect, speaking on the TEDx Temecula stage

Our
story.

Before The Phoenix Effect, I was a private trainer working with professional athletes, executives and other high performers. I got tired of only the elite having access to high quality programming.

I'd also moved to LA in 2010 and barely knew anyone. I felt lonely in a city of millions.

So I set out to build a space that would help people feel stronger and more connected. As a queer woman, it was also important for this community to be inclusive and welcoming.

We chose the phoenix because it's a powerful symbol of transformation and rebirth. You are never done growing and rising.

Since 2014, our team has helped thousands of Angelenos get stronger and more confident, and together we've raised over $500,000 for local charities. I'm so proud of what we've built and can't wait to welcome you!
